That’s according to a new article in the in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), in which our lab’s researchers found that stunted upward mobility in a learning environment incurs costs to individuals’ active learning and development by reducing the potency of adaptive beliefs both in existing educational systems and lab-constructed environments.
